You Are Not Broken (And Never Were) - Heart💖of Healing

Messages From The Heart of Healing

Goldfish in an ocean with heart bubbles, surrounded by coral. Text: "What if healing isn’t about erasing pain, but carrying it tenderly?"

There’s a lie that many of us unknowingly carry.

It doesn’t speak loudly.

It whispers in the quiet moments, in the aftermath of pain, in the spaces where we doubt our worth.

It says: “There’s something wrong with me.”

“I’m too much… or not enough.”

“I’m broken.”

But that voice is not truth.

It’s the echo of past pain, not the voice of your soul.

Here is the truth:

You are not broken.

You never were.

🧩 What Feels Broken Is Often What Was Bruised

Life leaves marks on our souls and bodies, each experience shaping us in ways both visible and invisible. We endure a myriad of challenges: we get hurt by the words and actions of others, face disappointment when our expectations are unmet, and sometimes feel the sting of betrayal from those we trust the most.

These emotional and physical wounds can accumulate over time, creating a tapestry of scars that tell the story of our journey.

As we navigate through these trials, we often absorb harsh judgments from ourselves and others, leading us to silence parts of our true selves in an effort to survive. This self-censorship can manifest as a protective mechanism, allowing us to shield our vulnerabilities from the world.

However, this act of self-preservation can also lead to a profound sense of disconnection from our authentic selves. We may find ourselves wearing masks, presenting a facade that hides the bruises we carry within.

Over time, the emotional bruises we accumulate can begin to feel like cracks in our very being. These cracks can create a sense of brokenness, making us feel fragmented and lost.

We may walk through life feeling as though we are less than whole, struggling to reconcile the person we appear to be with the person we truly are beneath the surface.

Yet, it is essential to understand that healing is not about transforming into someone completely new or erasing our past experiences. Instead, it is about embarking on a journey of remembrance - rediscovering the essence of who we are beneath the layers of pain and hurt.

In this process of healing, we come to realize that we do not need to be "fixed" in the conventional sense. The notion of being fixed implies that there is something fundamentally wrong with us that requires correction.

In truth, what we need is to be met with love and compassion, both from ourselves and from those who surround us.

This love acts as a balm for our wounds, allowing us to embrace our imperfections and acknowledge our struggles without judgment.

It is through this acceptance that we can begin to heal, finding strength in our vulnerability and reclaiming the parts of ourselves that we thought were lost.

Ultimately, the journey of healing is one of self-discovery and re-connection.

It invites us to honor our bruises as integral parts of our story, reminding us that they are not indicators of weakness but rather symbols of resilience and growth.

By embracing our full selves, including the bruised and broken parts, we can cultivate a deeper sense of wholeness and authenticity, allowing us to move forward with grace and courage.

🌿 Your Wholeness Was Never Lost

Even in those moments when you forgot your light, when the shadows of doubt and fear clouded your perception, your innate wholeness remained intact. It stood steadfast, like a lighthouse guiding you through the turbulent seas of life.

Even when others couldn’t see it, when they overlooked the brilliance that resides within you, your essence continued to shine, albeit sometimes dimly, waiting for the right moment to be rediscovered.

It’s important to understand that your wholeness is not something to earn through achievements or accolades. It is not contingent upon external validation or the approval of others.

Instead, it is a fundamental part of your being, a birthright that exists within you, untouched by the trials and tribulations you may face. The journey toward recognizing this truth is not about striving harder or pushing through barriers; it is about peeling back the layers of conditioning and self-doubt that have accumulated over time.

It’s something to uncover, akin to the process of mining for precious resources. Just as miners sift through dirt and rock to reveal the gold hidden beneath, you too must engage in the excavation of your own spirit.

This process may involve confronting uncomfortable feelings, revisiting past experiences, and allowing yourself the grace to heal.

It is through this journey of self-discovery that you will unveil the richness of your true self, which has always been there, waiting patiently for you to acknowledge it.

Imagine your wholeness like Gold beneath the dirt—valuable, radiant, and full of potential. The dirt represents the fears, insecurities, and societal pressures that can obscure your view of your own worth.

But just as a skilled prospector knows that persistence is key, so too must you commit to the path of self-exploration, digging deeper to uncover the treasures that lie within.

Like a sky behind the clouds, your wholeness exists beyond the temporary storms of life. The clouds may obscure the sun, creating a sense of gloom and uncertainty, but behind those clouds, the sky remains vast and clear.

Similarly, your true self is ever-present, even when it feels hidden by the challenges you face. It is essential to remember that the clouds will eventually part, revealing the brilliance of your inner light once more.

Your healing is a remembering, a gentle re-connection with the parts of yourself that may have been neglected or forgotten. It is a process of recognizing that you are whole, just as you are, and that you have always been deserving of love, joy, and fulfillment.

As you embark on this journey of remembrance, allow yourself the space to feel, to reflect, and to embrace the journey of rediscovery.

Each step you take brings you closer to the realization that your wholeness is not something to be sought after, but rather a beautiful truth that is already woven into the fabric of your being.

✨ A Gentle Practice: Meeting Yourself in Compassion

  1. Place your hands on your heart.

  2. Take a breath and whisper softly:“I am not broken.” I am whole.”

  3. Imagine speaking to your younger self, the one who thought they had to hide.

  4. Say to them:You are safe with me now.”

Let compassion lead you home.

🕊 Healing Is Not Self-Improvement

You’re not a project.

You’re a person.

You don’t need to strive to be lovable—you already are.

Healing isn’t about changing who you are.

It’s about reclaiming who you’ve always been.

🌱 Reflection Ask Yourself:

What parts of yourself have you labeled as “not enough”?
What would it feel like to offer them love instead of judgment?

You are not broken.

You are becoming visible to yourself again.

And that is healing.
